- Flow of events :
- Saturday, March 14
- I met with Jacob to discuss JWRD options and strategy.
- I continued the OS threads on complexity and next steps with trinque.
- Sunday, March 15
- I wrote a microblog published in #o that addressed some next steps and questions following the closure of TMSR and discussed in channel.
- Monday March 16
- I asked the primary question Jacob and I were considering : How will TMSR closure effect Bitcoin and what should we do about it ? Diana Coman helped us realize Bitcoin will continue to Bitcoin without TMSR and it makes sense to continue making it central in our service offering.
- Tuesday March 17
- I shared what I had of the JWRD sales article. It was identified I was making unnecessary projection and plan to shift to a more direct approach established.
- I commented on trilema to thank MP and give notice of postponement of CR visit due to border closure.
- Wednesday March 18
- I worked on the JWRD sales article.
- Thursday March 19
- I worked on the JWRD sales article.
- In the evening I learned Panama decided to close border to travelers for 30 days, starting Sunday, spent Thursday night into Friday morning discussing my options and deciding what to do.
- Friday March 20
- Started planning and packing for travels, divided my things into replaceable and irrepaceble.
- Saturday March 21
- Finished packing and tying up loose ends, left for airport.
- Sunday March 22
- Crossed border and started settling in VT.
- How I changed :
- I came to terms with the closure of TMSR and started to map out what I am to do about it.
- I took a hard look at my status in Panama and Vermont.
- I decided to shift my physical presence for the indefinite future.
- While I started strong with the daily reviews, I completely dropped them for several days. This week should have been when I leveraged the tool the most instead of choosing not to.
Summary
It’s not every week you take a life altering decision. My mindset is to prepare to return to Panama in April, while also preparing to live in Vermont for six months if the border remains closed. Use the leverage I have here to further my progress on the long term goals I have been working to achieve.

Summary
With the OS taking several steps back, JWRD is the top priority. We have a couple deals in play we need to close. I also have to bring new deals to the table. The OS is important, my plan at present is to see what comes of the conversations this weekend and readjust. It felt good to write the Dorion Mode article yesterday, keep writing about my history.

RMD week 19 review, Mar 7-13th, 2020
While there was already a lot on my shoulders to start this week, the burden was substantially increased by the historic events. The closure of TMSR is the toughest situation I’ve been confronted with. In my 30 years, I’ve shed a lot of previously held beliefs which ultimately lead me to TMSR. No one can know what could’ve been if I registered and committed earlier or if I acted with more integrity while engaged with what was TMSR. I’m not going to hold any regrets, but I must learn as fast as possible from both the good and the bad and shed whatever I’ve let remain that’s holding me back.
Can I be honest and present with myself and those I hold dear ? Of course I can, why couldn’t I ?
It’s going to take time and it’s going to be hard, but doing the things that produce success is easier than being unsuccessful.
Growth questions to further reflect on the week :
1. What did I spend my time on?
I spent my time on publishing the draft of the TMSR OS dependency list, JWRD pipeline, engaging the forum, a networking event Tuesday, Junto Wednesday. My plan from last week shows I let myself fail with the daily reviews.
2. Where did I ask smart questions? Where could/should I have asked *more* questions?
I engaged trinque about TMSR OS.
I asked questions in #o about my role in the closure, what makes culture come to be, if s.mg will be continuing.
I have questions to follow up with on yesterday’s thread.
3. Where did I deliver on my word and where did I fail to deliver? What did I do to mitigate the fail and what do I need to do + who do I need to talk to tomorrow to sort the fail(s) out?
I did publish the TMSR OS dependency list, though 3 days late from the already delayed deadline.
I asked MP about OTC.
I regressed and only had 2 days of review on the week.
The only thing I’ve done to mitigate the failure is make this review my top priority today so I’m not letting it linger into the evening as has been a bad habit that needs to be replaced.
4. What are the priorities for tomorrow?
My priority for the remainder of the day is to meet with Jacob, talk in #o and sort out my plan for next week and beyond.
5. How can I better use my available resources ?
I can follow through on blocking off my morning to focus on my top priority for the day prior to paying the outside world mind.
6. What should I do *differently* for better results tomorrow ?
Live the Page Boy’s Pledge.
Learn to embrace and enjoy the horror because on the horror was put into in my head by those who were afraid of my potential and other side of it is being. To let the horror win is nonexistence. I’m going to die anyways, so why not live ?
A quote from Benjamin Franklin I read today, “Pitch upon that course of life which is most excellent, and custom will make it the most delightful.”

Summary
Be boring yet effective. One day at a time. Write more and ask more, let people help you. Take actual control of your time. At the beginning of the day, think about how you want to answer the growth questions at days end.
RMD week 18 review, March 1st-6th, 2020
Adding the growth questions into the daily review was a change for the positive. It both gave me a closer look at myself more regularly and helped Diana Coman help me. I found the questions thorough enough for quality reflection, but not too burdensome. Though I missed my deadlines and let myself get into an unsustainable sleep schedule, I delivered the daily review all five days.
I got a proposal out to a client who has said he wants to start our training program this month and made progress on abstracting it to make the sales process more efficient. I also moved some other sales forward, but need to expand the breadth of the pipeline in the coming weeks.
I was gifted some insight from MP regarding keeping what people say in the proper perspective, i.e. let them talk and keep doing what you’re doing until you see them executing. I have had the tendency in the past to put too much value in what others say and count chickens before they’ve hatched. The deeper problem is that I’ve also let the talking but not delivering affect me as these pages well document a split between saying and doing. That split is being cured by being more aware through recording, reviewing, sharing, getting feedback and making adjustments.
I published the TMSR OS statement and received feedback on our approach to providing group classes.
I’m taking a closer look at how I set priorities and became more aware that I’m letting days bleed into each other rather than starting fresh each new day. If yesterday was a success, don’t rest on your laurels ((Perhaps season your soup with them.)) and if yesterday involved failure, collect yourself, reorient, communicate and be present with the fresh slate.
I’m struggling to find the exact Drucker quote I read this week, but it was about well managed businesses being quiet and boring while poorly managed businesses are frantic. A goal for the days and weeks ahead is to be consistently boring and effective rather than living a volatile schedule caused by poor planning and communication with frantic attempts at recovery. The goals and projects on my plate are exciting enough.

RMD week 18 plan, Mar 1st-6th, 2020
I took much longer on this than normal. The first impulse was to change the structure of the plan. I relaxed that because the problem is not the structure of the plan, but how I go about making and executing it. Instead I decided to get more detailed in allocating the available time on my schedule and exploring the opportunities to consolidate some regular tasks, e.g. I’m going to try doubling up my language practice with eating.
1. Things my Master assigned me:
- Draft of TMSR OS dependencies page. (AAC) Deadline : Wednesday, March 4th. ((I’ve been making this bigger than it needs to be, better to start small and publish already.))

Summary
I felt a bit overwhelmed by my backlog, which is proper given how I’ve let it grow. It didn’t accumulate in a week and it’s not going to get processed in a week. It’ll get processed putting in one solid hour at a time, knowing my role and using the available resources. This week the focus in on improving my process, being more present, abiding the Page Boy’s pledge and transmuting my competitive aggression/assertiveness from athletics to the present to man up already.
March 1, 2020
RMD week 17 review, Feb 24-29th, 2020
I technically missed all my deadlines this week and only delivered a few of my deliverables : the outline on Tuesday (~25 mins late), WoT ratings (5 days late, dropped silently twice, the second after pm probing), updates on Wednesday for Monday and Tuesday ((after public probing and ffs, I’m only realizing now those were on last week’s plan. Derp)) and Wednesday after midnight. I allowed all the other deliverables on the plan fall by the wayside.
On the plus side, we have a request for a quote for our hardware, software and training package from the COO of the project with local presence that’s attempting to make a decentralized exchange. While a bit daunting, the placement test Jacob made was useful in verifying he has some Unix experience and won’t need to start from square one.
As far as a good match for us, there’s a bit of misalignment between his goal for project which is to bring ‘crypto’ to retail and our focus on the elite. Furthermore, they have a bit of a technology maximalist approach, i.e. bring in XYZ complex tool off the shelf instead of designing and implementing fits in head and hand. On the more positive side, based on what he has told us, he made a career from designing and implementing HFT systems for a wide range of fiat exchanges and instruments. He told us at one point he was paying $20k/month for leased lines.
With that being said, the approach Jacob and I have discussed is to deliver on our training ((Which will allow us to refine our processes further.)), generate the cashflow and develop the relationship. This should put us in a better position to a) receive referrals from him and b) show him why our approach, e.g. focus on elite clientele and Bitcoin, is more realistic. There’s also the possibility for further consulting work for his project, but it’s too early to tell if it’ll be a good fit, e.g. builds for various shitlangs would have to be done for Gales Linux for them to use it in a wider capacity. Them using Gales Linux isn’t the only thing that could be done with them, but it’s the main part we discussed.
Other positives were my Master’s help with showing us further how we sell ourselves short, causing us to rethink our approach in asserting our value in dealing with people. We also further developed a set of questions for information security auditing we can approach companies with as a secondary offering to generate cashflow and develop relationships by meeting companies more where they are now rather than where we think they ought to be.
As far as actually making my deadlines next week, it’s clear some substantial changes need to be made. I added the week to the title to help raise my awareness and appreciation for time. Back in November I was reading the Page Boy’s Pledge daily, so I’ll pick that back up again to start the day and, more importantly, act it out. The daily review has been a good anchor, how can I make it better ? First, 21:30 local time is a healthier deadline. The late timestamps on my communications these past weeks/months are not the rhythm I want, so stop pretending midnight is on the table. If I don’t like what the review says minutes before the deadline, tough, be honest with the dislike and understand why it happened and do better tomorrow. To set myself up better, instead of a blank page at the end of the day, answer the following questions :
- Am I proud of my effort today ?
- How well did I track my time ?
- Did I exercise my curiosity and ask smart questions ?
- How well did I deliver on my word ?
- What do I need to do and who do I need to talk to tomorrow to repair my word ?
- How can I better use my available resources ?
- What can I do to improve by 1% tomorrow ?

Summary
I’ve invested in a deep dive these past couple weeks to examine some bad habits. Now it’s time to demonstrate my capacity to start replacing them, talk is cheap and all that.
RMD review, Feb 17th-23rd, 2020
On the bright side, I moved forward a deal that has a good chance to close this week. The company wants our help with key management so it’s a good test case for customizing our offering to more advanced computer users than we’ve served up to this point. On the darker side, yet another week passed in which I missed the majority of my deadlines.
My irritation with this pattern coinciding with the final week of my twenties, I took a couple steps back this weekend in pursuit of deeper perspective. The young hands club has provided the most external structure since my time in school. Upon dropping out of university and starting to work for the bank, it quickly became evident the school and my family didn’t provide much of a resourceful framework for managing myself on a wide variety of levels. I tried a wide variety of organizational approaches over the years and by my mid twenties had developed some decent habits in organizing myself, from scheduling to keeping my personal accounting to the penny.
In 2015 I found TMSR while living through Coinapult collapse from under me. I started to retreat into the shadows because it was clear I had a lot to learn. There was a long stretch of incongruence where I knew I ought to come out of the shadows and talk to the people I was reading and learning from, but didn’t. This incongruence spilled over into slacking on some of the positive habits I’d built for myself. By last summer, I couldn’t live with that incongruence any longer and finally got in the WoT, then finally overcame the hesitation to apply to be a young hand. From that point, things moved way faster and way more positive than I dared to let myself dream prior and I’ve taken on substantial responsibility since.
The visit to Vermont was a whirlwind both in entering emergency mode of living up to the TMSR OS responsibility and visiting both the positives and negatives of my childhood environment. January was a recovery and then sprint to catch up on both TMSR OS and JWRD activities. February has been a month of taking a deep breath, picking up the journaling pen, attempting to properly orient myself with my current situation and now building back the more comprehensive lifestyle of a sustainable and reliable behavior pattern.
Since as long as I can remember I’ve tended to put a lot of pressure on myself. At the same time, I typically have a keener eye for the negatives in situations and people, most of all in myself. While properly identifying negatives is important, creating positives is something I’m shifting to develop. For example, one journaling exercise I started working on this weekend is writing out an ideal day in as vividly as possible. I’d done this a couple years ago and found it helpful, but it fell to the wayside with the lack of congruence I was acting out. It’s been refreshing to revisit it now that I’ve established a stronger foundation for myself. Now the opportunity is to continue to refine it and, more importantly, live it out.

Summary
Two major things to improve on : a) time tracking to give myself a clearer picture for reflection and b) my consistency with the end of day review, crunch time is when effective communication is needed the most, deliver on time.
