Filed under: Will Haack — Will Haack @ 2:06 am

Between the three days I have before my friends come visit for a week, I have one day dedicated to saltmines, antoher to taking care of miscellaneous tasks, and the last to working on TheFleet.

1. Monday 03/02
    Saltmines (8h)
    Revise What-Makes-A-Good-Tragedy Outline (2.5h)
Outline an article that is based on a personal experience (2.5h)
Plan full day trip for the next day.

2. Tuesday 03/03

2.1 Full day trip to take care of various tasks: (print businesses cards, get a haircut, get a pair of backup reading glasses, get a new surfboard fin key, find and take some clothes to a dry cleaner, make an appointment with a doctor, open bank account with another CR bank (BAC), buy jumper cables + get the car washed, put gas in car, go grocery shopping, withdraw cash from atm)
   2.2 Daily Writing Exercise – Publish What-Makes-A-Good-Tragedy Article(2.5h)
2.2 Publish Article on Personal Experience (2.5h)

3. Wednesday 03/04

3.1 Investigate memory issue with TheFleet. Restart dead fleet regardless of results (8h)
3.2 Pick up friends from airport in the evening.

03/05 => 03/11
Entertain two friends visiting from the states / Paris. We are going to visit the nearby beaches, and then go see Arenal / La Fortuna. I will try to find time to get some writing or reading done while they are here, otherwise I will be away from my terminal most of the time.

    2. Where did I ask smart questions? Where could/should I have asked *more* questions?

Did not ask any questions today. Not sure where I should have, I think problems lie elsewhere.

    3. Where did I deliver on my word and where did I fail to deliver? What did I do to mitigate the fail and what do I need to do + who do I need to talk to tomorrow to sort the fail(s) out?

I failed the word that was my plan. I kinda-sorta made an outline, and did about half the saltmines work. As I type this up I have not gone over what I’m going to do tomorrow and will have to leave that for the morning. I didn’t do anything to mitigate the fail. Tomorrow I won’t be at the terminal much since I need to run around to get tasks done, so I can discuss this failure on Wednesday if necessary.

    4. What are the priorities for tomorrow? (those should include whatever you got from 3 above, as *first priorities* and then what comes from looking at the plan and at what you did + where you are

The top priority for tomorrow is to get as many tasks done as possible during my trip to town. In the morning I need to figure out the best route I can take to all the different stores in different places. I may have to go to two separate towns, argh.

  4. What do you consider to be the point of the first question?

    Comment by Diana Coman — March 3, 2020 @ 8:15 am

  5. The point of the first question, “what did I spend my time on?”, is to let one review whether efforts to stick to their plan and focus one’s time well landed on always attacking the *highest priority*. The point of the question is not “is one attempting to allocate their time well at all?” The point of _this_ question I gather is to point out that I made no effort to stick to priorities to begin with and therefore neither I nor you can give a review that’s much more helpful other than “stop being stupid.”

  6. 1. What did I spend my time on?

7:30AM-8:47AM Wakeup, contemplate and address comment http://younghands.club/2020/03/02/wh-plan-for-week-21-march-2nd-march-8th/#comment-508
    8:48AM-8:55AM Make tea
    8:55AM-9:30AM Plan Day Trip
9:30AM-5:15PM Errands done. (Note: tire pressure was imbalanced, that felt good to fix.)
5:15PM-5:56PM Read logs and contemplated severity of saying the right thing but not doing the right thing.
    5:57PM-10:18PM Worked on article.
10:18PM-11:00PM Answer questions for the day.
11:00PM-11:20PM Final proofread + publish article.

    2. Where did I ask smart questions? Where could/should I have asked *more* questions?

I am not sure if today warranted asking more smart questions, I was away from my terminal. The merit of the topic of my article though is pretty dubious, yesterday I should have asked whether or not it was something worth writing about. I choose to write about surfing because you told me to pick something I know more about. I don’t know what, if anything, I understand “properly.”

    3. Where did I deliver on my word and where did I fail to deliver? What did I do to mitigate the fail and what do I need to do + who do I need to talk to tomorrow to sort the fail(s) out?

I failed to deliver on all of the things I wanted to get done today during my errands. The most important two were scheduling a doctor’s appointment and creating another CR bank account. The doctor is the most important. I feel fine but I have not gotten a checkup since I moved here. I can ask my landlord and maybe mp for help finding one.

    4. What are the priorities for tomorrow? (those should include whatever you got from 3 above, as *first priorities* and then what comes from looking at the plan and at what you did + where you are).

    a. Contact a doctor and schedule a checkup.
    b. Investigate issue with TheFleet, restart bot that crashed.
    c. Prepare for friends’ arrival.
