WH Plan For Week 1 Oct 14th-Oct 21st

Filed under: Will Haack — Will Haack @ 5:53 pm
  1. My primary task for the week is to review the python version of keccak v.
    1. First I need to read all of the material reference posts. The root node for this seems to be on ben_vulpe’s page.
    2. After doing the background reading, I plan to write my own version of topological sort. I know enough about V to know this is a necessary component. I read Stan’s algorithm a while ago, but I do not remember it, and I think I would benefit by trying to come up with it again before reading the source. I recall Stan had mentioned it was a good exercise.
    3. After doing the background reading and solving the topological sort problem, I will create a post explaining the what/why/how of V that includes the annotated source code.
  2. Tokyo travel post
  3. Twenty hours of saltmine work
  4. Finish reading the Odyssey
  5. Daily Spanish study
  6. Pack for CR Flight on Saturday Oct 19th
    – Get new guitar.
  7. Setup apartment upon arrival

  1. Sounds ok. Kind of doubt point 4 really but now you promised it, do it.

Why does Spanish get included but others don’t (guitar comes to mind)? In other words: how do you decide what needs to be on the list – are those things that won’t happen unless list-stick on your back or what?

  2. I didn’t come up with a well defined criteria for what goes on the list, but I chose what I felt I needed to do this week that takes time (excluding homeostasis). I still am not 100% sure of what should go on this list nor how much detail i should put on the list.

My guitar is in CR right now so I can’t practice. I am going to get another one to bring there, which is a task that I’ve now specified.

  3. The main things that need to go in there are, in order: 1. things I assigned to you 2. things you want feedback on/help with 3. anything else that takes up a significant amount of your time.
