ejb review of Mar 9-Mar 15 ; plan for Mar 16-Mar 22

Mp-wp bot delivery

Well, I delivered the log history dump at least, but MP has confirmed that since he has left IRC behind him he has little need for a irc-to-blog interface. I mean, it makes sense.

Still, I put a lot of work into this thing and it does do some cool stuff you know? I'd like it to live. Fortunately, my Master has indeed expressed that she would like it for #ossasepia/Ossa Sepia as long as it is demonstrated to be a reliable process. Time still needs to tell on this, however, but hopefully it can turn into something.

Saltmines

I'm in the 2nd half of the month now so things are a bit quieter, which is good. Still, while I got off to a good start with my daily-sending-of-job-applications I eventually petered off. Need to pick this back up starting tomorrow.

And thanks to this month's hysteria, I may be getting some upcoming reprieve on this front in the form of mandatory work-from-home time for two weeks. I'll see if the hype lasts long enough for this to happen though..

House clean-up

This has been going quite well. The next thing I really need to face now, though, is the mailing of my ex's old stuff. I'm gonna see about actually mailing some shit next week or at least assessing the cost.

Blog

I did not get much work done on my penance article last week, which means I'll be tending to my neglected blog as a first priority this week. I also would like to write something touching on the dissolution of the world's only sovereign, but there's a lot of thoughts there obviously. I almost want to try combining the two but I'll see how that works out. There's also the Shinjiru write-up and the HostOne write-up, but those aren't pressing really, so I'll let them slide for now.

  1. Tuesday was not a productive day, though today I got some writing done at least. I got news today that starting tomorrow everyone will be required work from home, so I'm going to try and capitalize on this new temporary flexibility in my time. I'll need to remember to not get too complacent here though; I gotta sling more job applications out.

  2. Tbh it sounds like more people will get laid off than hired but anyways, can't hurt for the discipline at least to actually do for once *exactly* what you promised, without breaks, excuses, pauses, whatevers.

From the other side of all of it, I suppose the worse the whole virus-madness gets, the more of a crisis hence the more opportunities to finally shake up the old habits. Perhaps.

Yeah, this thought has entered my head (that I could be laid off from my current job). Still, it either will or won't happen and besides continuing my general strategy of being more useful then the next guy I doubt there's much more I can control. I'll let those dice fall where they may.

I did, however, actually stick to my own promise to myself today and sent out an application. I agree I need to improve my discipline in general.

Got some more writing done too. Lots on my mind lately which has been good towards this aim at least.

  4. I'm late for bed, so I'll keep it short: I didn't do any writing today, but did send out another application. Going to hit the blog tomorrow morning.

  5. Meant to ask re logbot - why not bring it in #o and have it log that since you have it up on the server anyway (if you do?). Basically give it the test run on #o since there's nothing to test in #t anymore.

Anyways, good on sending the application, hopefully that cleaning IS getting to the finish line soon too, looking forward to seeing what your plan & review says for next week.
